This does not work. When I go to the sleeping girl, the game tries to load the sprite does not exist. Unsuccessfully.

yes, there seems to be a read/write permission issue with your windows user account (most likely some setting blocks "portable" programs from accessing your %localappdata% directory)
Deleteplease move the game folder to "C:\Twin Star" and try again
folder name doesn't matter, important is that it is directly on your C drive
Works just fine now!
DeleteAwesome fast answere ^^
you're welcome
Deletemay I ask if you tried to play the game from an external/network drive?
you are not the first to report that error so I already knew how to work around it but I don't know what cause it in detail
Internal drive, tho no the C:/
Deleteok, thanks for the info and enjoy the demo ;)
Deletei can't seem to get the game to run properly its in c:/twin star
ReplyDeletebut when i start the game its white screen then a jumble of different images all trying to use the same space at the same time any help
strange, what windows version are you using?
Deletehave you already tried to install the additional download for your windows version?
windows 7 on a lenovo think pad 64 bit i downloaded the game 6.2 and the additional microsoft visual its weird
Deleteif it helps i was able to successfully load the 2.0 version its when i update the info for the 6.2 or play the 6.2 standalone that i have the issue
Delete?
Deletewhat do you mean by "update the info for the 6.2 or play the 6.2 standalone"
there is only one version
i originally got a older version that had a install system that version worked fine its called TwinStar_techDemo_0_2 i downloaded Twin Star - techDemo 0.6.2 put it on my desktop hit start and had problem above, downloaded the windows visual same problem, moved the file to the c:/ same problem, the last thing it tried was moving all the files into the same folder as the working older game file and let my computer update the old files with the new ones still has the same problem
Deleteok i went back and downloaded all previous versions they all run perfectly all the way to 5 but 6.1 and 6.2 both have the same issue of all images trying to display at ones on start up
Deleteok now that sounds really really strange because there were no changes to the game engine or anything from 0.5 to 0.6.x
Deletewhat is also strange is that both 0.6.x versions are having this problem....
I can't replicate this on my test PCs so it's hard for me to find a solution to this :/
alright i appreciate your help maybe its something on my laptop messing it up ill try my desktop pc when i get the opportunity ill keep an eye on future updates to see if they work i love what your doing has great potential to be a good game plan to support if i can get theses new versions to consistantly work thanks again for your help and what you've created
Deleteso I just got feedback from another user who had a similar problem like yours.
Deleteproblem was a missing or outdated graphics driver (Intel HD onboard)
so maybe updating your drivers would help in this case ;)
Ummm how do I fix this?
ReplyDeleteI accidentally put the window screen on the highest possible proportion and I can't seem to revert it back to normal though...
Any fix?
in your "AppData\Local\TwinStar_techDemo_0_7_1" is a file called "settings.ini" where you can change the resolution (width/height)
